The Paradigm Shift

This section is about the many things that have changed over the years that have made this project feasible for the first time in history

As the years pass, technology and markets evolve, and new options become available.  Often new innovations spring from the opportunities that these evolutions create.

In the Save Point project, there are 3 main areas where changes have occurred that make it possible for us to create something that would not have been possible a decade ago.

Animation software in particular has seen some advancements, allowing creators to produce commercially viable animation at a speed previously unheard of.

One of the key changes was a simple piece of translation code, that created a link between vast existing motion capture libraries, and programs that allow skeletal animation of drawn characters.

Also incredibly significant was the development of automated lip-sync technology, which reduces what was formerly one of the most expensive and time consuming aspects of animation to something simple and cheap.

Over the past few decades, we have seen the rise of crowd funding, and crowd sourcing.  The simple idea that a large group of like minded people could accomplish great things with some coordination and direction.

Though this concept has been applied to many things, it's never been effectively used to allow creators around the world to seamlessly work on a single broadcast project.
